"I believe that to deal with the great unraveling taking place around us, we’ve got to come back home, immerse ourselves in that which goes on in our neighborhoods and communities, in our own backyards or on the land we farm. We can feel paralyzed by the broader world scene, but we have enormous power in and around the places where we live.”

~ Michael Abelman, author of Fields of Plenty, speaking at the 2005 Bioneers Conference

“To heal our planet and find joy in this challenging time, each of us must also take an interior journey, one probing not only our unspoken fears but also our deepest beliefs about our nature as human beings.” ~ Frances Moore Lappe, Hope’s Edge

About Cathryn . . .

Cathryn Couch, M.B.A., is a professional chef, evolutionary astrologer, herbalist and activist who is passionate about changing our relationship with food on the planet as a vehicle for healing our disconnection from ourselves, from one another and from the larger community of life which nurtures and sustains us.

She has worked in the corporate and not-for-profit worlds, including four years as Director of Communications for The Hunger Project-U.S., an educational organization focused on changing our understanding of the causes of and solutions to hunger in the world.

In 2006, Cathryn founded The Ceres CommunityProject, which brings together teens in Sonoma County to prepare meals for families dealing with health challenges. She is just completing a cookbook with fellow chef Lisa Rost entitled The Whisk & The World, which will be available by June 2008. She is also writing a book about food entitled Cooking is a Radical Act.

Her astrological consulting work focuses on empowering people to step into the fullness of who they are by connecting them more deeply to their own wisdom and by supporting them in discovering the unique meaning and purpose of their lives.
