Working with Cathryn. . .

KitchenCosmology gives you a taste of the work that I am deeply engaged in. If you find yourself longing to explore these ideas more fully, please consider joining me at one of the retreats I will be co-guiding in 2008, organize a group of friends for one of my day long workshops, Cosmic Play in the Kitchen, or contact me to explore working one on one. More information about all of these options is available on my Workshops & Retreats page.

"All of us long to be courageous; to be heroes to ourselves. But this kind of courage has nothing to do with toughness. Such courage does not come by shielding ourselves or in desperately seeking signs of hope, but by opening, opening, opening to experience. It comes if we expand our hearts to let it all in, all the messiness, the fear, the sadness, the loss, the longing – as well as the wondrous sense of awakening that this era holds.”  ~ Frances Moore Lappe, Hope’s Edge

Welcome to KitchenCosmology, where what happens in your kitchen is at the heart of changing our world.

KitchenCosmology is about reconnecting -- to ourselves,  food, community and the universe. It's about learning to listen at a deep level to our own being, and owning our  gifts and purpose. It's about rediscovering our relationship with food and learning to "vote with our forks". And it's about finding our place in the larger universe so that we can see our lives  in their true context.

Radical Cooking explores our relationship with food in the United States and globally. You'll find articles, links, fascinating facts and suggestions for bringing more creativity, joy and awareness to food in your own life.

The Ceres Community Project  is a non-profit that I began in early 2007. It brings teens together to learn about whole food and cooking while preparing organic meals for families who are facing health challenges. Read about what we are doing and how you can help.

Herbal Medicine Coming to know our allies in the plant world offers tremendous benefits on all levels. Plants work at a subtler, sometimes slower, and always more wholistic level than drugs. Many  medicinal plants have now been tested scientifically and we can name the chemical constituents and properties  that provide their medicinal value. But plants are also more than these constituents. As living beings, they help us to connect to the larger matrix of the living universe.

Evolutionary Astrology and spiritual counseling helps you understand and fulfill your destiny – the work your soul has come here to do. If you’ve never worked with your birth chart in this powerful way, call or email me to schedule a consultation.

Resources brings together the best of what I know about – books, web-sites, organizations, and workshops – that are empowering the birth of a new planetary consciousness.

We are living at a unique moment. For the first time, we have the consciousness to see our inter-relatedness with both the human and more than human world. For the first time, we also have the power to destroy life as we know it on the planet.

Waking up to our own power and discovering what it means to act with integrity from the whole, is both the opportunity and the responsibility we face. I invite you to join the growing body of people who are engaging with themselves and the world from this deeply human place.

Open yourself to the aliveness in your life and the world around you. Explore how the living universe wants to discover itself uniquely through your life. Discover how the actions you take each day can help to create a radically different world for all of us.

KitchenCosmology is intended to foster a conversation about the role of food in our lives and world. If you have comments or feedback, please let me know at cathryn@kitchencosmology.com.
